Top Google Ranking Due to SEO? Many people pursue this goal, but there is room for a maximum of 10 sites on the first page of search results. The fight for the coveted position is fierce. Find out how to get it.

1. Choose a suitable hosting.

Your SEO efforts won't pay off if the foundation isn't working properly. And the basis of any site is hosting. First of all, hosting of your website should be fast. You will achieve this goal if you invest in a premium server located close to your target group. When hosted on a shared server, your website will have to share performance with other sites. This can mean that your site will become slower when you visit another page on the server more often. This is not an optimal solution, but it is often enough to get you started.
As soon as your budget allows, invest in the best hosting. This can increase the loading speed of your website, which often results in better rankings as well.

2. Choose a good domain name.

Domain name is the address where you can find your website. Be sure to choose a domain that will serve you for at least a few years. It can be a brand domain or a brand domain with a search query, not a domain with the search query itself.

3. Activate HTTPS.

At first there was only the http protocol, and later https was developed to make the internet a safer place. The website must be encrypted, especially if it is not created solely for informational purposes, but processes sensitive data (e-commerce, contact forms, etc.). Google has been emphasizing the importance of website encryption for a long time.
Lately, unencrypted websites have been flagged as insecure, which negatively impacts customer confidence and makes SEO difficult. With this in mind, it is worth asking your hosting company to provide an SSL certificate as soon as possible so that the website is encrypted and loads securely. As an added bonus, it will also run slightly faster and be more preferred by search engines.

4. Determine the purpose of your website.

From the beginning, you need to understand why you want others to find your site and what you want to achieve with it. In fact, a website has (more often than not) one job: to attract customers. And this is what you should focus on. So think carefully about which search term will be most important to you. Do you want to position yourself as a specialist or, above all, promote a product?
Take a few minutes, hours, and even days to truly understand what you want to achieve with your website. This is important not only in the context of the next point, but also if you want to invest in AdWords ads later.

5. Modern website.

More than half of all traffic on the Internet comes from mobile gadgets. This trend is growing and that is why optimizing a site for small electronics reps is extremely important from the outset. Thanks to this, you will not intimidate smartphone users.
Wordpress makes it easy to build a modern, responsive website. If you're not going to design your site yourself, be sure to let your designer know what you want to focus on. Make sure the designer has SEO experience so that your site not only looks good, but also easy to find. You should also remember that the content on the website must be optimized for mobile devices.

6. Create the most important pages on your website.

Make sure that on your website the most important subpages are accessible from the very beginning: home page, contacts, “about us”, offer / services, blog, privacy policy and company data. Basically, this is the standard page structure that search engines and users expect. The more a site grows, the more important it is to maintain a meaningful structure. Each subpage should be accessible with a maximum of two clicks.

7. Include the required texts.

After you create the most important pages, you need to fill them with a variety of content. There should be about 500-2500 words on the home page so that search engines can determine the topic of the website.
On the home page, answer the following questions:

1) what is your offer;
2) who you are;
3) what your customers think of you (customer reviews / opinions);
4) where you work, how clients can find you / contact you (location and communication options);
5) what else visitors need to know about you.

The creation of a page with information about the company and the protection of personal data is necessary in order to protect yourself and not risk fines. Also create a blog page even if you haven't published the article yet. Thanks to this, subsequently, there will be no need to adjust the design of the site, and articles about the company, offers, products and industry can be immediately published.

8. Collect your first backlinks.

Backlinks are links from other websites to yours that are very important for your page to actually show up in Google searches later. Good backlinks from other sites are the key to high rankings!
To get your website up and running dynamically from the start, you need to start building your most important links right away. These links should come from well-known websites that are already established and trusted by the Google search engine. In search engine optimization, this is called OffPage optimization. Create profiles in these locations and link to your home page, About Us page and social media groups. This should be enough to get you started.

9. Create a Google My Business profile.

After creating your most important profiles and related links, sign up with Google My Business. Even if you do not offer local services, it is worth creating such a profile, because it is an important link that makes your enterprise / business more serious. Plus, you can collect reviews efficiently with Google My Business. And this is an important factor in building trust on the Internet.

10. Optimize your site in terms of search.

Use this quick checklist to check your home page and every page on your website (excluding contact page, company details, and privacy policy):

1) choose a reasonable page title, no more than 50-55 characters;
2) make sure your urls are structured without unnecessary words. Keep URLs as short and relevant as possible;
3) avoid short texts. Each subpage must contain at least 500 words and 2 photographs - provided this is appropriate for the context;
4) offer something more. Texts/videos/photos on sites are intended to inform the visitor, solve a problem or help. Do not use copied, stolen, or untrustworthy content;
5) add meta title and meta description. The title should be no more than 60 characters, and the description should be no more than 300. There are many different tools and plugins here;
6) give your photos meaningful names (not 814title.jpeg) and set alternative descriptive tags (alt);
7) optimize the photos on your website to be as small as possible, but still remain crisp. Various tools and plugins will help you with this. It is best to upload already optimized photos;
8) use headings and subheadings (H2, H3, H4, etc.) to properly highlight the text on the page;
9) give your texts more space. Insert enough paragraphs, photos, and videos so that the text doesn't look like a giant bunch of words. Then it will be more readable;
10) check the spelling of the texts in terms of spelling and grammar. There is nothing more unprofessional than text buried in errors;
11) add links to interesting information (ideally) on your own website, but feel free to link to external sources as well;
12) set up nofollow links to protect personal data, company data and contacts, so that attention is directed to the most important pages of your website;
13) on the localization page, add your firm's address using the Schema.org Mark-Up. If you only have one location, add it to the footer;
14) use Google Maps and geotagged photos for your location pages;
15) add only the most important pages to your menu - home page, offer, about us, blog, contacts. No need to clutter up your website menu;
16) prepare your site according to your goals. If you are counting on contact with your visitors, do not hide the contact page.

Summary

Now you know what to do to succeed in Google search results and automatically attract new customers. It's important to constantly try to do a little better and devote enough time to internet marketing. Even a few minutes a day is often enough. Good luck!
